The Peasant Farmers Association of Ghana commends government for conceptualizing the decision to restrict the importation of strategic products into the country and protect local industry. Based on the analysis and forecast of some of the selected communities, the Association welcomes the decision, but underlines the need for government to demonstrate commitment to fulfill these key conditions, to guarantee that artificial shortages are not created to open the doors for importation of these produce.
