About the Upper East Farmers’ Cooperative Credit Union

The Upper East Farmers’ Cooperative Credit is a first ever Farmers’ Cooperative Credit Union in

Ghana dedicated to serving the financial needs of farmers, agribusinesses, agricultural workers,

and other related businesses in both urban and rural communities. With a strong commitment to

cooperative principles and member-focused banking services for the poor, we hope to provide

accessible and affordable financial solutions to our members.

Job description

As the Farmers’ Cooperative Credit Union Regional Manager, you will be responsible for day-to

day operations of the credit union and leading the team in delivering exceptional service to our

members. You will be responsible for managing all aspects of the credit unions’ operations,

ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and fostering a positive and supportive work

environment for other team members.

Responsibilities of the Regional Manager

  • Oversee all aspects of credit union operations, including mobilization of members,

lending activities and financial transactions.

  • Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to ensure efficiency,

accuracy, and compliance with regulatory standards.

  • Monitor and evaluate operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and

implement solutions to enhance member satisfaction and operational effectiveness.

  • Manage the credit union’s financial resources, including budgeting, financial reporting,

and asset/liability management.

  • Monitor financial performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), and take

proactive measures to achieve financial goals and targets.

  • Ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulatory

requirements related to financial management.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with members, understanding their financial

needs and providing personalized solutions and guidance.

  • Promote the credit union’s products and services, educate members on financial literacy

and cooperative principles, and actively engage in community outreach initiatives.

  • Lead and motivate a team of credit union staff, providing coaching, training, and support

to foster a high-performing and collaborative work environment.Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in finance, business administration, or a related field (Master’s degree

preferred).

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial services, with at least 2 years in a

managerial or leadership role.

  • Strong knowledge of credit union operations, financial management principles, and

regulatory compliance requirements.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build

relationships and inspire trust among staff and members.

  • Proven track record of success in business development, account management roles,

preferably in banking services.

  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a proactive approach to achieving targets.
  • Willingness to travel and stay in the Upper East region and travelling to all the districts

within the region.

  • Ability to self-drive is added advantage

Languages:

Fluency in Farafara, Kasem, Kusaal and Hausa is an added advantage.
